A beautiful winter night at Rothera Point, with cold starlight washing down over the the mountains of Pourquoi Pas Island.

I’m on nightwatch this week, and last night the stars were simply spectacular. The eastern side of Rothera Point is shielded from the base’s lights, offering an unadulturated view of the night sky.

Truly stunning.
